Palak called for creating communication, social and edutainment platforms

As the first IT company in the country, DataBird launched an innovative initiative, a grant competition for students and professionals. DataBird, the Bangladeshi Internet Giant has started a new journey with the investment of Sky Catcher and unveiled its launchpad platform. State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak inaugurated the platform on Monday. At the same time, he hopes that the local IT companies and the country's innovative inventors will be able to solve their problems to meet the local demand like Rhythmic. The state minister said, "I thank DataBird for taking such a timely initiative." I hope all entrepreneurs, inventors, developers and engineers will showcase their beautiful talents on this DataBird Launchpad platform. And the ICT department will always be by the side of such good initiatives to build a better future for the young generation, he opined. Zunaid Ahmed Palak once again urged the youth innovators to create their own social media and communication application for the contestants, emphasizing the importance of innovation by mentioning the 'Surokkha' and 'Boithok' apps created by the programmers of the ICT department. "We have about 11 crore internet subscribers," he said. To meet the needs of these customers, we need local social media platforms, communication application platforms, and edutainment video platforms. We also have to spread our initiatives globally. "Over the last four years, we have been able to attract foreign investment worth $300 million in fintech logistics and digital e-commerce startups," the state minister said, citing new innovations as the key to local startup ecosystem development efforts. After Ridmic Keyboard, DatBird founder and CEO Kasef Rahman in his welcome address announced the launch of Messenger, Payment Gateway and Digital Ad Platform this year. After the speech of DatBird Executive Director Tanvir Ali, Sia Kamali, a board member of DataBird highlighted the rationale for the investment of SkyCatcher in Databird. Among others, Tina F. Jabin, Managing Director of Startup Bangladesh Limited, Tajnin Hasan of Daily Star, Syed Almas Kabir, President of BASIS, Sami Ahmed, LICT Advisor and NM Zeaul Alam, Senior Secretary, ICT Department spoke on the occasion.
